Frequently asked questions
Does cropping reduce image quality?
No. The cropped region is copied at full original resolution and only re-encoded once, when you choose the output format and quality.
What do the aspect ratio options do?
They lock the selection box to fixed proportions: 1:1 for square social posts, 4:3 for classic photos, 16:9 for video thumbnails and 3:2 for DSLR framing. "Free" lets you drag any shape.
Can I rotate a landscape photo to portrait?
Yes. The Rotate control turns the source image 90° at a time and the crop box adapts, so you can extract a portrait crop from a landscape photo.
