Up to 20 images, 25 MB each, 50 MP max — nothing is uploaded

Your image is processed locally in your browser and is not uploaded to our server.

Large images slow down websites, clog up email attachments and eat into phone storage. This image compressor reduces file size while keeping the picture looking sharp, using your own device to do the work.

Pick a quality level for full control, or choose a target size such as 100 KB and let the tool search for the best quality that still fits. Every image is decoded, re-encoded and compared locally — nothing is sent to a server.

How to use this tool

  1. Drag and drop one or more images onto the drop area, click to browse, or paste an image with Ctrl+V (Cmd+V on macOS).
  2. Set the quality slider between 10 and 100. Starting around 80 gives the best balance of size and clarity.
  3. Optionally choose a target size (100 KB, 200 KB, 500 KB or 1 MB) and the tool will search for the highest quality that stays under it.
  4. Press Compress. Compare original and compressed sizes, then download a single file or grab the whole batch.

Frequently asked questions

Are my images uploaded to a server?

No. Compression happens entirely in your browser using the Canvas API. Your images never leave your device, so the tool works offline once the page has loaded.

Which image formats can I compress?

JPG/JPEG, PNG and WEBP. PNG files are re-encoded as PNG by default; you can switch the output format to WEBP in the options for much smaller files where browser support allows.

How much smaller will my image get?

Typical photographs shrink by 60–90% at quality 80. Images that are already optimised will save less — the tool always shows you the exact before and after size before you download.

Does compressing reduce the image dimensions?

Not by default: width and height stay the same. When you pick a target size that quality alone cannot reach, the tool progressively scales the image down until the target is met, and reports the final dimensions.

Can I compress many images at once?

Yes. Select up to 20 images and the batch table shows the original size, compressed size and savings for each one, with an individual download link plus a "download all" option.
