Your image is processed locally in your browser and is not uploaded to our server.

PNG keeps every pixel, which is exactly what you want for logos and screenshots — but it is a heavy format for photographs. Converting to JPG can cut the file size by 80% or more, which matters for email attachments, upload forms with size limits and page speed.

The converter lets you choose the quality level so you can decide where the size-versus-detail trade-off lands, and it shows the resulting file size before you download.

How to use this tool

  1. Add your PNG files by dragging, browsing or pasting them in.
  2. Choose a quality value — 85 to 92 is a good starting point for photographs, 70 to 80 for pure size savings.
  3. Press Convert to process the images locally.
  4. Compare the original and new sizes, then download the JPG files.

Frequently asked questions

What happens to the transparent parts of my PNG?

JPG cannot store transparency, so transparent pixels are placed on a solid white background. If you need to keep transparency, convert to WEBP instead — it supports alpha and compresses well.

Which quality setting should I use?

Use 90+ when the image will be printed or edited again, 80–85 for websites and email, and 60–70 when the only goal is the smallest possible file.

Is the conversion done on your server?

No. The PNG is decoded and re-encoded by your own browser, so the file never leaves your device.

Can I batch convert PNG files?

Yes, up to 20 files per batch with the same quality setting applied to each.

Will text in my screenshot stay readable?

At quality 85 and above, screenshots of text generally stay crisp. For very small fonts, either keep a higher quality setting or stay with PNG.
