When you need to keep an alpha channel and want a format that every design tool accepts, PNG is the answer. Converting WEBP to PNG is lossless: the pixels are copied across byte for byte, so nothing else is degraded in the process.
Use it to bring WEBP assets into Photoshop, Figma, InDesign or an older CMS, or to hand off a file that has to remain pixel-stable through further edits.
How to use this tool
- Add one or more WEBP files to the upload area.
- No quality setting is needed — PNG conversion is lossless.
- Press Convert to decode the WEBP and rebuild it as PNG.
- Download the PNG files with their extensions rewritten automatically.
Frequently asked questions
Is WEBP to PNG conversion really lossless?
The conversion step is lossless — every decoded pixel is written unchanged. Obviously any quality that was already lost when the original WEBP was created stays lost.
Why is the PNG so much larger?
PNG does not use the modern compression techniques WEBP relies on. Expect the PNG to be two to five times bigger; that trade-off buys compatibility and lossless stability.
Is transparency preserved?
Yes. The alpha channel is carried over exactly, so cut-outs and transparent logos stay clean.
Can I convert many files at once?
Yes, up to 20 files per batch.
Does the tool alter resolution or metadata?
Resolution is untouched. Metadata such as EXIF is not carried across, since it is not retained by the browser decoding pipeline.
